Bloody Sticky Stuff in Feature Creep online gallery, of hypermodern horror, with a detailed response to the song:
Light Shadows’ Bloody Sticky Stuff is a synth song, very much in the vein (yes, there will be vascular puns in this. Or, you could say, there will be blood) of what we used to call darkwave and/or industrial back in my day. Basically goth meets EBM, (electronic body music) a sort of warehouse gothic with elements of dark disco. Light Shadows’ particular take on the genre (which likely has a different name nowadays) expertly threads the needle of being a stylistic throwback without ever feeling stale or gimmicky. Carrying forward the mood and vibes of goth’s heyday, as well as its clarity of purpose, while remaining contemporary in its outlook and presentation.

"Wall Grenade” is fast, fun, and upbeat. It’s sonic imagery will put you into a nightclub-like scene comparable to the one in “Cabaret” when Liza Minnelli sings “Life is a Cabaret”- LGTWO
About the Band
Light Shadows was formed in Los Angeles, after an appropriate mourning period for the post-punk band they originally met in. They’ve been compared to Eurythmics and described as having darkwave, 80s electro and alternative sounds. Inspired by gothic elements and multiple genres, they use analog instruments alongside synths and clean strong vocals.
Band members Cassandra Vincent (vocals, synths, lyrics) and Philip Peters (synths, guitar, bass, percussion, vocals, lyrics) quickly began performing around LA and started to release music in 2019. The pandemic stopped their shows and saw them ending up on separate coasts, but it didn’t stop their music.
They released singles in 2020 and were featured in Black Serpent Press’s Small Band Saturday. In 2021 two singles were in the Artefaktor top 20 and another two singles from their ever first EP in 2021 landed in the Artefaktor top 10 at #9 and #4 in two consecutive weeks alongside genre defining artists including Erasure, BlakLight, Actors and Dave Gahan.
Their audience started growing in 2022 with “Spooky”, “Hey Ho (Synth Carol)” and “Wall Grenade”, their first song with a music video.
In 2023 their "Wall Grenade" music video was an Official Selection of the Hudson Valley Film Festival. They also dropped two double releases "An Empty Heart Burns Fast (Synth)"/"An Empty Heart Burns Fast (Alt)" and "Bloody Sticky Stuff (Synth)/Bloody Sticky Stuff (Alt)", honoring one of their early ideas of releasing a single song in two very different styles.
They are currently working on a concept album inspired by their love of sci-fi and focus on a positive rather than dystopian future.
