From the moment we appear Through the blood and sweat and tears From the moment we arrive The blood shows that we're alive Flowing through the mind Moving in rhythm and in time Flowing through the veins Fueling love and fueling pain But it doesn't stop there Only when we are aware It sneaks up from behind Silent explosion and we find we are Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Stuff Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Stuff It will not be restrained Denying blood it is in vain The illusion we believe The blood gives us a reprieve But it never no it never stays still Not by force and not by will It needs to flow It needs to feed Honour the blood or we bleed Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Stuff Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Stuff Bloody Sticky We're bloody and we're sticky oh Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Bloody sticky nasty stuff We're bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky stuff Bloody sticky Bloody sticky Bloody sticky dirty stuff Bloody Sticky Stuff |
About the song and it's inclusion in the Feature Creep gallery: Our music spans the light and the shadows as our name suggests, though we wouldn’t describe our shadow side as horror, but more gothic. However, the definition of hypermodern horror struck me as in line with our song “Bloody Sticky Stuff.” It was written from two vantages; one vampiric, and the other as a reflection on the essence of what connects us and challenges us as humans. No matter the affectations, the advancements (technological or otherwise), the ‘packaging’, in the end we are all bloody sticky stuff. Messy, fueled by our passions whether of love or anger. We can’t deny what we are or what we have in common. Even when we try to exert controls, whether positive ones rooted in values, choice, discipline or restrictive outward forces of rules, laws, judgement, this crude essence is always present beneath the surface. The song posits the benefit of learning to recognize, understand, accept, and craft ourselves and our world without denying this essence. - Cassandra |
